DIRECTORATE OF FOREST VILLAGES AND RURAL AREA FIRE RESPONSE
OUR MISSION
1. To investigate potential rural and forest fires throughout the city and carry out risk reduction efforts.
2. To ensure the organization of a correct and successful response in rural and forest areas with a high risk of fire.
3. To raise awareness among the local population about rural fires, forest fires, and natural disasters, and to organize training, equipment, and tanker distribution for early intervention.
FIRE TANKER PROJECT
Fire Tankers
A total of 119 new fire tankers were distributed, 60 in 2021 and 59 in 2022. Maintenance and Repair of Tankers: Of the tankers transferred from the Provincial Special Administration and the Regional Forestry Directorate to our Metropolitan Municipality, 184 have undergone maintenance and repair and have been delivered in working condition. Currently, we have a total of 601 operational fire tankers.
