DIRECTORATE OF SEARCH AND RESCUE AND DISASTER AFFAIRS

Directorate of Search and Rescue and Disaster Affairs, established in 2014, is responsible for all kinds of accidents, collapses, explosions, intervenes in situations where technical rescue is required and conducts first aid services. It performs all kinds of search and rescue work on the surface, under water and above water; participates in rescue operations in natural disasters and emergency situations. Intervenes with the permission of the municipality if intervention is required for search and rescue activities outside the borders of the municipality.


Search & Rescue Underwater and Above Water

Inciralti Diver Team which is consisting specialist divers intervenes in the accidents that takes place in the water (sea, lake, pond, dam, stream and rivar) 24/7. It also provides escort services for activities organized on the sea.

 

     

Mountain Search & Rescue

Mountain Search & Rescue Team with modern rescue equipment and specialist staffs conducts search and rescue operations in all kinds of falls, accidents, dents, disappearances etc.
 


Response Team to Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Events

CBRN Response Team plans staff training on CBRN as domestically and abroad. And They are ready 24/7 to intervene in events.

Disaster Studies

Provides preparation of Emergency Action Plans and contributes to the preparation of İzmir Disaster Response Plan on behalf of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. Provides coordination of disaster studies with public institutions, private sector representatives and civil society organizations and makes plans. Exercises about disasters.
 


Sporty and Social Activities

The physical qualities of fire department staff are supported by prepared sports programs. Various physical sports activities are carried out to increase the work efficiency of staff. Preparatory activities are being carried out for national and international Fire Sports Competitions and Izmir Fire Department is represented in competitions.
